SIXTH WEEK OF EASTER
MONDAY

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Alleluia, alleluia!
It was ordained that the Christ should
suffer and rise from the dead,
and so enter into his glory.
Alleluia!
OR
Alleluia, alleluia!
The Spirit of truth will be my witness;
and you too will be witnesses,
says the Lord.
Alleluia!
GOSPEL READING
JOHN 15:26-16:4
†
A READING FROM THE HOLY GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
(THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH WILL BE MY WITNESS.)
Jesus said to his disciples:
“When the Advocate comes,
whom I shall send to you from the Father,
the Spirit of truth who issues from the Father,
he will be my witness.
And you too will be witnesses,
because you have been with me from the outset.
I have told you all this
so that your faith may not be shaken.
They will expel you from the synagogues,
and indeed the hour is coming
when anyone who kills you
will think he is doing a holy duty for God.
They will do these things
because they have never known either
the Father or myself.
But I have told you all this,
so that when the time for it comes
you may remember that I told you.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
R.) Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
Receive, O Lord, we pray,
these offerings of your exultant Church,
and, as you have given her cause
for such great gladness,
grant also that the gifts we bring
may bear fruit in perpetual happiness.
Through Christ our Lord.
R.) Amen.

PREFACE OF EASTER

(ONE OF THE BELOW CAN BE USED)
†
PREFACE I OF EASTER
THE PASCHAL MYSTERY
It is truly right and just,
our duty and salvation,
at all times to acclaim you, O Lord, but
(on this night / on this day / in this time)
above all to laud you yet more gloriously,
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
For he is the true Lamb
who has taken away the sins of the world;
by dying he has destroyed our death,
and by rising, restored our life.
Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,
every land, every people
exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers,
with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

PREFACE II OF EASTER
NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
It is truly right and just,
our duty and salvation,
at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
but in this time above all to laud
you yet more gloriously,
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
Through him the children of light rise to eternal life
and the halls of the heavenly Kingdom
are thrown open to the faithful;
for his Death is our ransom from death
and his rising the life of all has risen.
Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,
every land, every people
exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers,
with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

PREFACE III OF EASTER
CHRIST LIVING AND ALWAYS INTERCEDING FOR US
It is truly right and just,
our duty and salvation,
at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
but in this time above all to laud
you yet more gloriously,
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
He never ceases to offer himself for us
but defends us
and ever pleads our cause before you:
he is the sacrificial Victim who dies no more,
the Lamb, once slain, who lives for ever.
Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,
every land, every people
exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers,
with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

PREFACE IV OF EASTER
THE RESTORATION OF THE UNIVERSAL THROUGH THE PASCHAL MYSTERY
It is truly right and just,
our duty and salvation,
at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
but in this time above all to laud
you yet more gloriously,
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
For, with the old order destroyed,
a universe cast down is renewed,
and integrity of life restored to us in Christ.
Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,
every land, every people
exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers,
with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

PREFACE V OF EASTER
CHRIST, PRIEST AND VICTIM
It is truly right and just,
our duty and salvation,
at all times to acclaim you, O Lord,
but in this time above all to laud
you yet more gloriously,
when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
By the oblation of his body,
he brought the sacrifices of old to fulfilment
in the reality of the Cross
and, by commending himself to you
for our salvation,
showed himself the Priest, the Altar,
and the Lamb of sacrifice.
Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,
every land, every people
exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers,
with the angelic hosts,
sing together the unending hymn of your glory,
as they acclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON
Jesus stood in the midst of his
disciples and said to them:
Peace be with you,
alleluia.
†
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Look with kindness upon your people,
O Lord,
and grant, we pray,
that those you were pleased to renew
by eternal mysteries
may attain in their flesh the incorruptible
glory of the resurrection.
Through Christ our Lord.
R.) Amen.
